The Woman: Part 3 (The Other Woman)

He never was and never would be mine,
You reinstate this over and over again.
I agree to this…it’s alright, it’s fine.
But when was he yours? Tell me! When? When? When?

Look at you scurrying around for support and wit,
Of course the strangers and family has taken your side.
Then you point to a paper that calls me illicit,
And by some insane rules declares you bona fide .

They have called me a witch; they have called me evil,
They have stood by your side and wiped away your tears,
But all this has never been able to kill my will.
I am deaf to the threats, immune to the jeers.

He had come to me by complete choice,
He will go back to you but with utter reluctance.
He will long for my face, body and voice,
And in you he will search for my fragrance.

The love in your bond is an established myth.
And you live with pain behind your closed doors.
Hatred, anger and malevolence I can deal with.
But never with pity. Fortunately that is all yours.
